Hexanchus andersoni JORDAN, 1907
Hexanchus andersoni, an extinct Sixgill shark, is very similar to H. gigas in
size and tooth form. These teeth are uncommon in Bakersfield deposits but are still found
with much more consistency than many other species. These teeth may measure up to
4-1/2 cm in width. Normally, 7-8 conules are present, but these specimens may (rarely)
bear 9 to 10. As with any Hexanchus
teeth, they are only rarely found complete.
