Aetomylaeus is a genus of tropical myliobatids which inhabit the continental and insular shelf of the Indian Ocean and Western Pacific. Compagno (1999) notes that they are possibly semi-oceanic and recognized four species. The genus lacks a caudal spine.

A rather large (to 200cm DW) inshore (including brackish water) species inhabiting waters from India to China including Indonesia & Malaysia
- ?A. milvus (VALENCIENNES, 1841) Ocellate eagle ray
A benthopelagic inshore species known from the Red Sea to China and south to Indonesia.
- A. niehofii (BLOCH & SCHNEIDER, 1801) Banded eagle ray
A widespread demersal species occurring inshore (intertidal) and offshore (to at least 70 m depth). The species has been reported from the Persian Gulf to the Philippines, north to Korea and south to Australia. Small in size (58.0 cm DW), it is known to feed on worms, crustaceans, snails, and bony fishes.
- A. vespertilio (BLEEKER, 1852) Ornate eagle ray
A medium-sized (to 160 cm DW) benthopelagic species known from from Mozambique to the western Pacific. These benthopelagic rays are found in muddy bays and on coral reefs from nearshore to 110 m depth.
